Like all organisations, universities must evolve in the way they fulfil their missions in the rapidly changing global landscape. This means that the people, systems and processes supporting the university’s operations must evolve and stay relevant at all times.
In 2018, the Nanyang Technological University Singapore (NTU) embarked on a transformation journey to enable the university leadership, faculty, researchers, staff and students to realise their fullest potential. The key objective is to significantly uplift organisational capabilities, both in terms of infrastructure and human capital, so that NTU can continue to grow as a world-class university.
One key imperative is the adoption of a cloud-first and SaaS strategy to replace legacy enterprise applications. After a rigorous scoping and evaluation process involving a diverse group of stakeholders across the University, Workday was selected to streamline 65 various in-house HR applications into an integrated system where employees can access “live” HR data and take action anywhere, anytime and on any device.
