Job Opportunities in the Mainland 

• Greater Bay Area Youth Employment Scheme 
  • Since 2023, this scheme has become regularised to encourage enterprises to employ Hong Kong young people to work in the Mainland cities of GBA so as to foster their career development and the exchange of talent within the area. Under the scheme enterprises with businesses in both Hong Kong and the Mainland cities of GBA employ Hong Kong young people in accordance with Hong Kong laws with a monthly salary of not less than HK$18,000 to work in the Mainland cities of GBA and receive on-the-job training.  The Government grants a monthly allowance of HK$10,000 to enterprises for each employed young person for a maximum period of 18 months.  Tailor-made support in the Mainland including telephone hotline, dedicated social media group and various activities is provided for the young people hired under the scheme.

Working Holiday Scheme

To provide an opportunity for young people in Hong Kong to gain first-hand experience living and working in a foreign culture and broaden their horizons, the Hong Kong Government has established bilateral Working Holiday Scheme (WHS) with the Government of New Zealand, Australia, Ireland, Germany, Japan, Canada, Korea, France, the United Kingdom, Austria, Hungary, Sweden, the Netherlands, and Italy respectively.  Apart from facilitating cultural exchanges between Hong Kong and our partner economies, WHS also enhances bilateral cooperation and promotes tourism and development between the two places. Under WHS, participants may stay in the host economy for an extended period. They are also allowed to take up short-term employment as an incidental aspect of their stay, or even enrol in short-term course(s) (except Ireland) so as to acquire a better understanding of the cultural and social developments of the host economy.  WHS enables young people to gain invaluable experience while holidaying and working abroad, which would help strengthen their self-confidence, resilience and inter-personal skills.

Aim-Higher Scheme

Aim-Higher Scheme is a service package of the Selective Placement Division of the Labour Department (SPD) tailored to the needs of tertiary educated job seekers with disabilities and/or special educational needs (SEN) in their job search.  The service package provides career consultation service, personalised job matching, advice on resume building and cover letter writing, one-on-one drills on interviewing skills and Government vacancies and recruitment activities information.  To know more, you can contact SPD at 2852 4992 or email to spd-admin@labour.gov.hk.  SPD provides free recruitment service to employers and free service for open employment to job seekers with disabilities.
