所有IVE及HKDI全日制之學生，與欲借用DO筆記型電腦，必須前往學生發展處申請，符合資格的學生會轉介至學習資源中心借用相關項目。

DO laptop loan for IVE/HKDI full-time student who  would like to borrow an item, contact SDO to apply. The successful candidate will refer to LRC borrow an item at LRC Circulation Counter.

LRC provides 7 color photocopiers (Octopus payment) and 3 “Print Quota System” printers for photocopying, printing and scanning services, and for free quota printing service respectively.

Print Quota Photocopier 

For “Print Quota System”, a total of 1,000 units of printing quotas are allocated to every student in IVE (Sha Tin) in the beginning of academic year. These units can only be used in Sha Tin campus. Please refer to the webpage for user guide:

The deduction of quotas for different types of printouts are summarized as follows (Only the “Print Quota” printers at LRC Complex):

Mobile Print 

A file or photo in a smartphone (iPhone/Android phone) can be printed out at one of the color photocopiers (Octopus payment) via the mobile app. For details, please read the following instructions:

For scanning service, 16 flatbed scanners connected to PCs are provided in LRC Complex. Scanned files can be saved to your USB flash drive. All scanning services are free of charge. Please read the webpage for the location of flatbed scanners:

3D Printer Booking System

 

INTRODUCTION :

Wireless LAN (WLAN) service is implemented in all IVE campuses and VTC headquarters. Users can connect to the VTC network via radio signal without the use of physical network cables and ports. To use the service, minimum requirement is:

  • A VTC Computer and Network Account (CNA)/Email account
  • A web browser (e.g. Internet Explorer)

OBJECTIVE OF WIRELESS LAN PROJECT:

  • To implement Wireless LAN service for IVE students and staffs of VTC for mobile PC access to Internet/Intranet and Web-based Teaching/Learning services.
  • Since the implementation of the Campus Network in the IVE campuses, majority of the classrooms, laboratories and staff rooms are connected to the network. However, users might still require network access in some areas like library, student canteen and some open areas. To further facilitate both teaching and learning with the aid of mobile PCs, implementation of Wireless LAN could provide students and staff with more access throughout the campus.

WHO CAN CONNECT TO THE WIRELESS LAN :

  • All IVE students and staff of VTC with a valid email / Computer and Network Account can connect to Wireless LAN.
  • All notebook computer should have a Wireless LAN card which is compatible to the Wi-Fi standard. The Wireless LAN card obtains a IP address from DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) server
  • If guest or visitor need to access VTC WLAN service, please contact local support for arrangement via section or department.
