I. Donations to collections
VTC Library welcomes donation and gifts of books, manuscripts, archives, non-print materials, photos and other library materials that will support the Library's education and research mission. Once the gift is donated to VTC Library, they become the property of the Learning Resources Centre. If you wish to donate items other than Library materials, please contact us for the special arrangement.
II. Information to Donor
- The acceptance of gifts will be based on their suitability to individual campuses according to the purposes and needs of programs.
- The Library generally does not accept additional copies of materials already present in the collection. Items such as obsolete material, textbooks, poor-conditioned items, scattered or single volumes of multi-volume sets, individual magazine/journal issues, recreational readings are not considered. Additionally, Audio-visual materials without library license or public license, as well as materials in a format no longer supported by current equipment in the LRC, will also not be accepted.
- Gifts are welcomed if they are in good physical condition, and there are no restrictions or obligations regarding their use.
- By accepting the gift items, you acknowledge that the Library retains the right to decide the location, retention, exchange or disposal of those items. The Library may not provide acknowledgments for all received gifts unless prior agreement is made.
- The Library retains full discretion in determining the disposition of such items.
